Position Overview
Seeking an experienced Infection Control/Prevention Program Manager for a Level 1 Trauma Facility using EPIC (Bugsy). This role oversees hospital-wide infection prevention across all inpatient, outpatient, ED, surgical, and procedural areas. Candidates must hold a active CIC certification, have strong leadership experience, and be comfortable assisting with staff orientation and comprehensive surveillance programs.
Key Details
- Schedule: Full-Time (Mon–Fri, 8-hour days, flexible start by 08:30 AM)
- Weekends/Holidays: No holiday requirements; occasional weekend review of site construction activity
- On-Call/Standby: None
- Dress Code: Business casual or scrubs (Navy for RNs, Black for non-RNs)
- Coverage Scope: Entire facility (Supported by 2 contract IPs initially, transitioning alongside 2 permanent hires)
Key Responsibilities
- Surveillance & Safety: Lead Healthcare-Associated Infection (HAI), device-related infection, and Surgical Site Infection (SSI) surveillance.
- Rounding: Conduct regular device, Environment of Care (EOC), and clinical area rounding (inpatient, ED, procedural); participate in daily 08:30 AM safety huddles.
- Orientation & Mentorship: Assist in onboarding and orienting incoming permanent Infection Prevention staff.
Requirements
- Certification: Certified in Infection Control (CIC) required.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN), Public Health, Epidemiology, Medical Technology, or related healthcare field.
- Experience: Hands-on IP experience in high-acuity settings; prior leadership/management background preferred.
- Systems: EPIC (Bugsy module) experience required.
- Location Note: 60-mile local radius rule applies (DL required); must be in-state during orientation week.
