A Nuclear Medicine Technologist prepares and administers radioactive drugs to patients for diagnostic imaging and therapeutic treatments.

  • Radiopharmaceuticals: Prepare, calculate, and administer radioactive drugs (tracers) orally, intravenously, or via inhalation.
  • Equipment Operation: Run advanced imaging systems like PET (positron emission tomography) and SPECT scans, or gamma cameras.
  • Patient Care: Explain steps, answer questions, ease fears, and monitor patients for any unusual or adverse reactions.
  • Image Processing: Process and enhance computer-generated images for physician or radiologist review
