Job Summary:
Nuclear Medicine Technologist position in Nebraska. This role involves performing quality diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures under supervision to ensure accurate imaging for diagnosis and treatment. The position requires participation in teaching and research activities, along with the utilization of departmental resources to deliver timely, accurate, and safe exams. Candidates must demonstrate knowledge of age-specific patient needs and patient safety protocols.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts, with variable start times based on staffing preferences. Minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Graduate from an accredited nuclear medicine program, current certification by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) and/or The American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT), AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, knowledge of computers interfaced with gamma cameras, knowledge of radioactive materials, doses, and flood sources, experience with patient monitoring and radiation safety equipment, ability to work with radioactive materials safely.
- Preferred Qualifications: Prior clinical experience, effective handling of patients and families across all age groups, good communication and personal skills, knowledge of nuclear medicine gamma cameras from various manufacturers.
- Additional Information: The role requires working in both department and mobile settings, with non-billable orientation hours of 12. No licensure is necessary in Nebraska; certification by a national organization covers PET/CT attenuation correction. The position is for a Level 1 trauma setting in an acute care environment.
