Job Summary: Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients, operating sophisticated imaging equipment such as gamma cameras, and analyzing the resulting images to assist physicians in diagnosing illnesses. Job Responsibilities:--35% Patient Care:-Prepare patients for nuclear medicine procedures by explaining the process, obtaining medical histories, and addressing any concerns or questions they may have. -Address any patient concerns or discomforts and ensure their safety and well-being during the imaging process.--35% Radiopharmaceutical Administration, Imaging Procedures, and Image Analysis:-Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals according to prescribed protocols and guidelines.-Ensure proper dosage and injection technique to optimize imaging results. -Operate gamma cameras and other specialized imaging equipment to capture images of radioactive tracers within the patient's body Required Education: Associate's degree or higher required from an institution accredited by an agency that the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) recognizes OR An institution accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Educational Programs in Nuclear Medicine Technology (JRCNMT) or -Graduate of the military's Nuclear Medicine Program. Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree in nuclear medicine technology or a related field. Required Certifications & Licensure: Active license through the Kentucky Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy. -BLS and ACLS. -Basic Dysrhythmia, Arrhythmia or ECG Course completion. -Certification by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in nuclear medicine.
