Job Details
- Certifications, Education, and Experience: Graduation from an AMA-approved school of nuclear medicine, registered in Nuclear Medicine with the ARRT or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB). A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience and possession of BLS and ARRT certifications are required.
- Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Performs all aspects of patient exam activities of nuclear medicine at a technical level that will produce high-quality images in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Obtains patient history, explains standard procedures, and addresses patient concerns to foster comfort and confidence.
- Operates and maintains all assigned nuclear imaging equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Performs diagnostic studies, including measuring and preparing concentrations of radioactive isotopes.
- Properly identifies, prepares, and/or administers medications/substances within the technologists scope of practice as prescribed by a licensed independent practitioner.
- Completes quality assurance processes and practices radiation safety to reduce exposure to patients, staff, and self.
- Maintains required documentation, logs, charts, and records in both paper and electronic formats.
- Performs routine daily, weekly, monthly, and periodic maintenance and function checks following established protocols for all imaging equipment.
- May assist other areas of radiology as assigned.
- Submission requirements: Must provide verification of licenses (LARA and Nursys for nurses, if applicable) and certifications listed above.
