Key Responsibilities
- Perform nuclear medicine procedures and related techniques to produce diagnostic images for physician interpretation
- Prepare and administer radioactive isotopes, ensuring correct isotope and dose are used; perform venipuncture and maintain venous access
- Position patients and equipment to best demonstrate the anatomic area of interest, with attention to patient safety, comfort, and immobilization as needed
- Operate nuclear medicine equipment, select appropriate acquisition parameters per established protocols, and evaluate images and data for technical quality
- Document all procedure-related information in the electronic medical record, including medication reconciliation, and ensure patients receive appropriate discharge instructions
- Utilize radiology information systems including PACS, archive and submit images for physician review, and assist with PET services as needed
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nuclear medicine technology program (education verification required)
- Active CNMT or ARRT(N) certification required
- Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Experience operating nuclear medicine equipment and associated imaging systems
- Proficiency with radiology information systems and PACS
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience assisting with PET imaging services
- Familiarity with radiopharmaceutical ordering through vendor-specific protocols
