Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Days | 5 days/8 hours per day | Start Time: 7:00 AM (cases must be completed before end of day, which may extend past 5:00 PM) | Weekend and on-call expected, typically every second or third weekend | Full-Time
Key Responsibilities
- Perform a wide variety of routine and advanced nuclear medicine imaging procedures while supporting efficient patient flow and throughput
- Maintain radiation safety protocols when handling radionuclides and pharmaceuticals; observe all radiation, personnel, and patient safety measures
- Ensure completed exams are correctly scanned and stored in PACS; follow PACS downtime procedures and escalate issues as needed
- Troubleshoot basic equipment maintenance, participate in quality assurance, and resolve issues related to image processing and archiving systems
- Complete daily logs and periodic tests as required by licensure; maintain compliance with all applicable state, federal, and regulatory standards
- Demonstrate flexibility by working other shifts and at other campuses as needed; participate in ongoing education and technical advances within scope of licensure
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology or an accepted and approved equivalent program
- Nuclear Medicine Technology certification required: ARRT (N) or NMTCB
- Texas State Licensure required: Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) issued by the Texas Medical Board (TMB)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required — American Heart Association (AHA) only
- Basic computer proficiency required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a clinical nuclear medicine setting
- Familiarity with PACS systems and image archiving workflows
- Experience with quality assurance processes and equipment troubleshooting in a nuclear medicine environment
