Description

Job Title: Nuclear Medicine Technologist Profession: Diagnostic Imaging Specialty: Nuclear Medicine Technologist Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day shift, No Call Hours per Shift: 40 Experience: Minimum of one (1) year post-graduate work experience as a registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist preferred. License: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in nuclear medicine or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTCB) Certifications: American Heart Association BLS Must-Have: Graduate of an Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA) accredited program or equivalent. Description: Performs general nuclear medicine examinations, including therapeutic procedures and PET/CT patient exams in an acute care environment. Performs nuclear medicine quality control measures, patient exams, and procedures as requested by the medical staff. Assists the Radiologists and other medical staff during exams and procedures. Performs ancillary duties as required to maintain proper distribution, billing, and archival of exams and procedures. Completes documentation for all information required for proper interpretation, reporting, archiving, and retrieval of exams. Verifies written/electronic orders and related health information to ensure the timely performance and reporting of nuclear medicine exams and procedures. Participates in the implementation, monitoring, and improvement of quality indicators as described in the strategic plan. Completes appropriate documentation for the administration, receipt/return, decay, and disposal of radioactive materials in compliance with state and federal regulations. Demonstrates sound judgment, patience, and maintains a professional demeanor at all times. Exercises tact, discretion, sensitivity, and maintains confidentiality. Performs essential job functions successfully in a busy and stressful environment. Learns current and new computer applications and office equipment utilized. Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Analyzes, organizes, and prioritizes work while meeting multiple deadlines. Regular and sustained attendance is required. This position may necessitate working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts. On-call work may be required to respond promptly to organizational, patient, or employee needs. The facility reserves the right to cancel three shifts per contract in the event of low census or other unforeseen circumstances. Traveler must live at least 90 miles away from the facility to be considered.
