Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac Stepdown | Illinois Travel Nursing Contract

Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,370–$2,500
• Location: Quincy, Illinois
• Healthcare Setting: Acute care cardiac stepdown / non-invasive cardiology

• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
• Nursing Shift: 8-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday
• Weekend Call: Every third weekend, Saturday and Sunday from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Illinois
• At least 1 year of professional nursing experience, preferably in cardiac stepdown, cardiology, telemetry, or another acute-care setting
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association
• Current NIH Stroke Scale certification
• Strong patient assessment, cardiac monitoring, communication, and clinical documentation skills
• Ability to work scheduled weekday shifts and participate in the required weekend call rotation

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to patients in a cardiac stepdown and non-invasive cardiology environment
• Monitor patients undergoing cardiac function tests, diagnostic procedures, and advanced imaging
• Support care related to electrocardiograms, echocardiograms, stress testing, heart monitors, and cardiac CT procedures
• Care for both inpatient and outpatient populations according to established clinical standards
• Recognize changes in patient condition, initiate appropriate interventions, and communicate findings to the care team
• Collaborate with cardiologists and the multidisciplinary team to coordinate individualized patient care
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in EPIC
• Promote patient safety, education, and a positive experience throughout testing and treatment
