Description
American Traveler is seeking a Level III NICU RN with CA licensure and at least 1 year of NICU experience for a 13-week travel assignment.
Details
- Level III NICU setting caring for surgical neonates, including infants as young as 23 weeks gestation
- Utilizes cooling therapy, all respiratory modes, PICC lines, bronchoscopy, LISA, VCUG, MRI, swallow studies, and line insertion procedures
- Patient ratio of 1:2-3
- Day shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Float requirement to Pediatrics, PICU, and Nursery units
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required
- Current BLS and NRP certifications required
- Minimum of 1 year of NICU experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Charting system experience required (any EMR system accepted)
- Skilled in ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP), UAC/UVC care, arterial and central line management, IV vasopressors, surfactants, and neonatal abstinence syndrome care
- 2 references from supervisors obtained within the past year required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive neonatal intensive care including cardiovascular monitoring, dysrhythmia management, feeding support, and infectious disease precautions
- Manage administration of emergency medications, IV therapy, and central/umbilical line care
- Local candidates accepted at local rate within a 50-mile radius
- Returning employees must have a separation period of at least 1 year to be eligible to return as a traveler
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract
- Holiday coverage includes New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
- Must be available to complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
- 7-year work history verification required for all candidates
