Description

American Traveler is seeking a CA-licensed NICU RN with at least 2 years of Level III/IV neonatal experience for a night shift assignment.

Details

• Level III/IV NICU unit within an acute care hospital setting
• Neonatal patient population ranging from <24-28 weeks to >34 weeks gestation
• 1:3 patient ratio
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 1900-0700
• Every other weekend required with voluntary call
• Floating required as needed
• Attends high-risk deliveries
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active CA RN license
• BLS (AHA) and NRP certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of Level III or Level IV NICU RN experience required, 5 years preferred
• Charge nurse and high-risk delivery experience strongly preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Proficiency in IV therapy, blood product administration, arterial and central line management, UAC/UVC care, and neonatal dosage calculations
• Experience with ventilator management, high frequency ventilation, CPAP, and other respiratory support modalities preferred
• Experience with therapeutic hypothermia, conscious sedation, and management of seizure disorders preferred
• Two supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration

• Deliver holistic, individualized nursing care including patient/family education and coordination of care plans
• Incorporate psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and lifestyle factors into care planning
• Local candidates accepted at the local rate within a 50-mile radius
• Returning employees must have a one-year separation before being eligible to return as a traveler
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only one holiday request approved per contract
• Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
• Holiday periods run from 7:00 PM the night before through 7:00 AM the day after
