Travel Nursing Job Details

  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,470–$2,600
  • Location: Livingston, New Jersey
  • Assignment Type: 13-week travel RN assignment
  • Start Date: October 26, 2026
  • Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 p.m.–8:00 a.m.
  • Shifts per Week: 3
  • Schedule: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday; every other weekend requirement may apply
  • Hours: Approximately 36–37.5 hours per week
  • Floating: Required between the Level III NICU, PICU, pediatrics, and newborn nursery based on competency and patient-care needs
  • Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:2, based on acuity, census, and staffing
  • Charting: Epic experience required

NICU Registered Nurse Job Requirements

  • At least 1.5 years of recent NICU nursing experience
  • Documented Level III NICU and PICU experience
  • Active New Jersey or compact RN license at the time of submission
  • Current BLS, NRP, and PALS certifications
  • Experience caring for neonates, including extremely premature infants
  • Proficiency with Epic or comparable electronic health record systems
  • Strong assessment, prioritization, communication, and critical-thinking skills
  • Ability and willingness to float to appropriate assignments in PICU, pediatrics, and the newborn nursery

NICU Travel RN Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized nursing care to premature, critically ill, and medically complex neonates
  • Monitor and manage patients requiring ventilator support, including AC, PC, SIMV, CPAP, BiPAP, and PEEP
  • Manage arterial lines, central and implanted lines, UACs, and UVCs
  • Administer and monitor IV vasopressors, steroids, surfactants, and other neonatal medications
  • Interpret and respond to dysrhythmias and changes in cardiopulmonary status
  • Provide bottle, breast, and gavage feedings and manage oral, nasogastric, and nasojejunal tubes
  • Care for infants experiencing Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome
  • Accurately document assessments, interventions, patient responses, and care plans in Epic
  • Collaborate with providers, families, and the interdisciplinary care team to support safe, evidence-based outcomes
  • Adapt care delivery when floating to PICU, pediatrics, or the newborn nursery while maintaining patient safety and quality standards
