Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Level III/IV NICU position requiring 2+ years of NICU experience, NRP, and Epic proficiency.

• Level III/IV Neonatal ICU setting
• 1:3 patient ratio
• Night shift, 4x12 hours (19:00-07:00)
• 13 or 26 week assignment options with October start dates
• Scheduled for 3 weekends within a 6 week scheduling period
• Must work 2 of the 3 winter holidays
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active VA or compact RN license (pending accepted, must be in hand by the Wednesday before start date)
• BLS and NRP certifications required in-hand at time of consideration
• Dr. Brown's Infant Driven Feeding Certification required (may be pending)
• Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• BSN preferred
• Skilled in neonatal procedures including UAC/UVC line care, high frequency ventilation, therapeutic hypothermia, nitric oxide therapy, and neonatal dosage calculations
• Experience with ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP) and chest tube management
• Two professional references required
• Nursys verification required

Additional Information

• Provide direct neonatal intensive care to Level III and IV patients, including respiratory, cardiovascular, and gastrointestinal support
• Assist with procedures such as lumbar punctures and central line care
• Float within scope of practice as required
• Maximum of 40 hours RTO approved per 13-week contract, with no time off approved during the first two weeks of the assignment
• Any vacation time between sign date and start date must be disclosed to determine an appropriate start date
• Previous UVA permanent staff or internal/external travelers must have at least 1 year separation and leadership approval to return
• External travelers may not exceed 365 total assignment days at this health system
• First-time travelers are not being considered for this position
