NICU Travel Nurse (Registered Nurse/RN) – Level IV NICU Assignment in Fargo, North Dakota

NICU Registered Nurse Requirements

  • At least 2 years of recent NICU nursing experience
  • Previous Level IV NICU experience required
  • Active North Dakota RN license or compact RN license; candidates willing to obtain a North Dakota license may be considered
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
  • Demonstrated ability to administer medications through PICC lines
  • Experience caring for neonates with umbilical lines, CPAP, nasal cannula, IV and oral medications, OG/NG feedings, and G-tubes
  • Ability and willingness to float to PICU and Pediatric units
  • Epic EHR experience highly preferred

NICU Travel Nurse Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive neonatal assessments and deliver individualized nursing care based on patient acuity and clinical needs
  • Develop, implement, evaluate, and document plans of care with measurable outcomes
  • Provide specialized neonatal nursing care for critically ill, intermediate, and growing-and-feeding infants in a Level IV NICU
  • Administer IV and oral medications, including medications delivered through PICC lines
  • Manage and monitor patients receiving care through umbilical lines, IVs, CPAP, nasal cannula, conventional ventilators, high-frequency ventilators, and nitric oxide therapy
  • Provide OG and NG feedings and care for infants with G-tubes
  • Assist with admissions and neonatal procedures, including intubation, spinal taps, PICC line placement, and IV starts
  • Accurately document patient care and clinical progress in Epic
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team and safely float to PICU and Pediatric units when needed
