Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a NICU III/IV position requiring NRP certification and extensive high-acuity neonatal care experience.

Details

• 186-bed Magnet-designated teaching hospital setting
• NICU III and NICU IV unit
• Cares for neonates less than 24-28 weeks gestation
• 1:3 patient ratio
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (1900-0730)
• Works every 3rd weekend
• Floating required as needed within the department
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active CT or compact RN license required
• BLS and NRP certifications required
• 3 years of NICU experience preferred, with 1.5-2 years at a comparable facility such as Connecticut Children's or Boston Children's
• Epic charting experience required
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management skills required
• Feedings (bottle, breast, gavage) and oral/nasogastric/nasojejunal tube placement and management experience required
• Isolation precautions and PPE knowledge required
• Arterial line management, central/implanted line care, UAC and UVC experience required
• IV vasopressor, surfactant, and steroid administration experience required
• Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome experience required
• One professional reference required for consideration

• Provide comprehensive neonatal intensive care including cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, IV therapy, and respiratory support

• Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved
• Local candidates not accepted; must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility
