Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced NICU RN for a Level 4 neonatal intensive care unit requiring at least 2 years of Level 4 NICU experience and an active OR RN license.

Details

  • Level 4 NICU with 46 beds caring for critically ill, convalescing, and growing premature and term newborns
  • Admissions come from the hospital's own high-risk perinatal department as well as transports from Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and Hawaii
  • Access to specialists in endocrine, pulmonary, genetics, renal, metabolic, ophthalmology, neurology, general pediatric surgery, and cardiothoracic surgery
  • Nurses participate in educating students and pediatric residents in this teaching hospital setting
  • Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
  • Weekend requirement
  • No on-call requirement
  • Floating required within the hospital; no floating to sister hospitals
  • Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

  • Active RN license (OR) required
  • BSN required
  • Minimum 2 years of Level 4 NICU experience required
  • BLS and NRP certifications required
  • PALS and STABLE certifications preferred
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Experience with respiratory care including Bubble CPAP, tracheostomy care/management, and ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP)
  • PA Lines experience preferred
  • Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
  • Previous charge experience preferred
  • Two manager or supervisor references from within the last 24 months required (charge RN references not accepted)
  • COVID vaccination proof required with no exemptions

Additional Information

  • Provide family-centered care to fragile neonatal patients and their families
  • Facility is a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma Center and teaching hospital
  • Scrubs provided for OR use; no prints allowed
  • Must be available to work at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day)
  • November and December start dates available
  • First-time travelers accepted with 3+ years of experience
  • Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restriction
  • Maximum RTO of 1 week, must be submitted upfront
  • Returning staff must have been gone at least 6 months to be eligible for a new assignment
  • Candidates may float to a nearby affiliate hospital as needed; refusal to float may result in contract cancellation
