Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, NICU Level III – Apple Valley, CA 92307
Start Date: November 3, 2026
Location: Apple Valley, California
Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (18:00 - 06:30). Weekend coverage required, averaging every other weekend but may exceed based on unit needs. Guaranteed hours with facility allowed to call off one shift per two-week period.
Highlights:
- Level III NICU with 14 beds serving approximately 190 births per month
- Acute care hospital with 212 total staffed beds utilizing Epic charting system
- Patient ratios staffed by acuity, up to 1:3; may float to Mother/Baby unit for babies (full float if couplet experience)
- 40 hours of orientation provided with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, and social services
- Free parking available for all staff
- Opportunity to work with diverse patient population including large Hispanic community in CCS-designated facility
Requirements:
- Active Compact RN license (must be in hand at time of submission)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience with at least 1 year in NICU Level III specialty (required, hard stop)
- Current certifications: BLS, NRP Advanced (or NRP with willingness to obtain Advanced before start), PALS
- Epic charting system experience required
- Community hospital experience required; previous travel experience preferred
- Experience with administration of blood products, attending high-risk deliveries, and conscious sedation
- Proficiency in managing central lines, PICC lines, arterial lines, ventilators, high-frequency ventilation, and oscillators
- Experience with titrating vasopressors (Dopamine, Dobutamine) and managing complex NICU patients
- Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
- Candidates located within 50-mile radius will be considered at adjusted compensation
