Description

American Traveler is hiring a Level III NICU RN requiring 3+ years of NICU experience and proficiency with ventilators and oscillators for micro preemies.

Details

  • Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit setting
  • Patient population ranges from 23 weeks gestation to 4 months old
  • Neonates primarily admitted from labor and delivery, including response to neonatal emergencies and attendance at C-sections and high-risk deliveries
  • Treats conditions including extreme prematurity, respiratory distress syndrome, sepsis, hypoglycemia, congenital anomalies, seizures, and meconium aspiration syndrome
  • Provides noninvasive nasal CPAP, mechanical ventilation, High Frequency Oscillation, and nitric oxide inhalation therapy
  • 3x12-hour AM/PM rotating shifts
  • On-call required

Requirements

  • Active RN license in state/district required (DC RN license required)
  • BLS, NRP, and STABLE certifications required (AHA certifications only)
  • Minimum 3 years of NICU experience required
  • Must be proficient with ventilators, oscillators, pressors, and care of micro preemies
  • Experience performing bedside procedures such as peripheral IV insertion, septic workups, intubations, percutaneous catheter insertions, and parenteral therapy
  • Two manager or supervisor references required, verifying most recent experience within the past 12 months, with at least one from the most recent employer

  • Assist with bedside procedures including blood and blood product administration, bronchopulmonary hygiene, medication administration, vital sign monitoring, and parent teaching

  • Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
