We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse with NICU experience for a 13-week travel assignment in Dayton, Ohio. This travel nurse job offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic neonatal care setting, collaborating with a skilled interdisciplinary care team to support infants requiring specialized, compassionate care.

  • Shift: Night shift, 3 x 12-hour shifts per week (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
  • Hours Per Week: 36
  • Orientation: 16 hours
  • Float Expectation: May float to inpatient units when not needed in the NICU
  • Weekend Requirement: Weekends required, typically every 3rd weekend based on unit need

Job Requirements

  • Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse license in Ohio or a valid Compact license in hand
  • Minimum 1 year of NICU experience required; pediatric nursing experience required
  • Associate degree required; BSN preferred
  • Current CPR certification
  • Current NRP certification
  • Competency with central lines, PICC lines, and umbilical lines
  • Experience with oxygen delivery systems including nasal cannula, high flow, CPAP, NIV, and ventilator care
  • G-tube and trach experience preferred
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality neonatal nursing care to patients in a fast-paced NICU setting
  • Monitor, assess, and respond to the changing needs of infants requiring specialized care
  • Support the care team with advanced neonatal therapies and respiratory support
  • Maintain proficiency in line care and neonatal equipment management
  • Float to inpatient units as needed when NICU staffing allows
  • Document care accurately and maintain safe, compassionate, patient-centered practice
  • Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to promote the best possible outcomes for patients
