Job Details:
**Required Experience and Qualifications:** - At least 2 years of NICU experience. - Preferably with Level III NICU experience as the facility is a Level IV unit. - Experience with patient ratios of 1:2-4. - 1 year of required experience. - Compact license must be in hand at submission. - Valid state license. - At least 2 professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years. **Preferred Experience and Skills:** - Previous charge experience is not specified. - Community Hospital, LTAC, Trauma Level I, and Trauma Level II experience is not necessary. **Certifications:** - BLS (Basic Life Support) - NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) **Technical Skills and Advanced Skills Required:** - Experience with Epic charting system. - Administration of blood & blood products, anti-seizure medications, antibiotics/antivirals. - APGAR scoring, arterial line management, assist with lumbar puncture, blood glucose monitoring. - Breastfeeding support/handling of breast milk, bubble CPAP, central line blood draw, central line/implanted line care. - Colostomy/ileostomy management/care, developmental care, feedings (bottle, breast, gavage), gastroschisis/omphalocele. - High flow nasal cannula (HFNC), high frequency ventilation, hyperbilirubinemia, ICP monitoring, insulin administration. - Invasive hemodynamic monitoring, isolation precautions/PPE, IV vasopressors, management of chest tubes, meconium aspiration, necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC). - Neonatal abstinence syndrome, neonatal dosage calculations, neonatal sepsis, neonates 34 weeks and 29-34 weeks experience. - NICU levels II, III, and IV experience. - Nitric oxide (INo), oscillators, oxygen delivery systems, patient/family teaching. - Phlebotomy, phototherapy, placement/management of oral/nasogastric/nasojejunal tubes. - Post abdominal surgery care, respiratory distress syndrome, seizure disorders, sepsis work up. - Starting and maintaining IVs, steroids, suctioning (ETT, NT), surfactants. - Telemetry - on the unit monitoring, therapeutic hypothermia (cooling blanket), thermoregulation, tracheostomy care/management. - UAC (Umbilical Artery Catheter), UVC (Umbilical Vein Catheter). - Ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP), ventricular peritoneal (VP) shunts. **Leadership Experience:** - Charge RNs/Lead references can be included. **Additional Requirements:** - Float required within the facility's pediatrics/PICU/pedi ED. - Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Xmas Eve, Xmas Day, NYE, NYD). **Notes:** - Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate. - Facility does not accept Nursys or BG hits. - Travelers must be prepared to float between sister facilities. - Modules must be completed pre-start and during orientation.
