  • Floating: May float within scope as needed

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of NICU nursing experience required
  • Prior travel nurse experience required
  • Active Virginia RN license or compact state RN license in hand at time of submission
  • Epic charting experience required
  • BLS and NRP certification required
  • BSN preferred
  • Ability to work night shifts and provide weekend coverage
  • 2 professional references required
  • Strong clinical skills in neonatal care, high-acuity patient management, and critical care nursing

Responsibilities

  • Provide skilled nursing care to neonates in a Level IV NICU setting
  • Monitor and support critically ill newborns requiring advanced medical and surgical interventions
  • Administer medications, manage IV therapy, and support respiratory care interventions
  • Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other interdisciplinary healthcare team members
  • Perform ongoing assessments, document care in Epic, and respond quickly to changes in patient condition
  • Support family education, developmental care, and compassionate communication for newborns and caregivers
  • Float within scope when needed and maintain flexibility in a fast-paced neonatal care environment
