Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a NICU position requiring NRP certification and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

• Work in the NICU (Level III/IV) of a hospital environment
• Cares for neonates as young as 24-28 weeks gestation
• Manages patients with cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, infectious disease, neurologic, and respiratory conditions
• Performs feedings (bottle, breast, gavage) and manages oral/nasogastric/nasojejunal tube placement
• Provides IV therapy including arterial line, central/implanted line, UAC and UVC management
• Administers medications including IV vasopressors, surfactants, and steroids
• Manages ventilator settings (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP)
• Cares for neonates with Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome
• Patient ratio of 1:3
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (18:45-07:15)
• Required to float to Childbirth Center units based on patient care needs

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required
• Minimum 3 years of NICU experience required
• Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience required, 2 years preferred
• Epic charting experience required

Additional Information

• Required orientation modules completed and signed off by facility managers
• Maximum of 5 days RTO permitted per assignment, with no blocked schedules accepted
• All RTO requests must be disclosed at time of consideration and cannot be modified afterward
• Local travelers accepted at the same rate as non-local travelers
• Travel pairs accepted
• Former staff must be separated from the facility/system for at least 1 year before being considered for rehire as a traveler
