Description

American Traveler is hiring a Level II NICU RN for a night shift position requiring 2 years of experience and NRP certification.

Details

  • Level II NICU unit caring for admissions and normal newborns at 32 weeks gestation or greater
  • Attends all vaginal and Cesarean deliveries, including high-risk deliveries
  • Uses CPAP/BiPAP, feeding tubes, and syringe pumps
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-07:30
  • Floating required as needed, including to sister facilities nearby
  • Not expected to care for mother-baby couplets unless skills/competencies are already established
  • Epic EMR used

Requirements

  • Active WA state or compact RN license required, must be in hand at time of consideration
  • Current BLS and NRP certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required
  • Skilled in neonatal feedings (bottle, breast, gavage)
  • Experience with placement/management of oral/nasogastric/nasojejunal tubes
  • Competent in neonatal medication administration, emergency medications, and neonatal dosage calculations
  • Ventilator management experience required (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BiPAP/PEEP)
  • Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

Additional Information

  • Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
  • Previous Providence permanent employees must be separated from the health system for a minimum of 3 months to qualify
  • Returning employees must also live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility they are submitting to
  • Candidates residing within a 50-mile radius will be accepted at a lower bill rate
  • First-time travelers may be considered for this position
