Registered Nurse (RN) - NICU

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in a NICU setting and hold the necessary certifications.

Unit Information

  • Unit Type: NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit)
  • Level of NICU: Level II
  • Number of Beds: 6 designed beds, 2 transition beds (can overflow to 8 with staffing)
  • Nurse:Patient Ratios: Based on AWHONN acuity standards; typically 1:2 or 1:3

Responsibilities

  • Attend deliveries and provide care for postpartum mothers.
  • Manage couplet assignments for postpartum moms and their babies up to a 1:3 ratio.
  • Provide care for common diagnoses such as TTN, RDS, feeder-growers, hyperbilirubinemia, and hypoglycemia.
  • Transport patients needing higher-level care as appropriate.

Shift Information

  • Shift Length: 12 hours
  • Shift Timing: 6 PM to 6:30 AM
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
  • Weekend and Holiday Requirements: Yes, required to work weekends and holidays
  • Call Requirement: Participation in call rotation as needed
  • Floating Policy: Required to float as helping hands to other departments

Qualifications

  • Must possess current certifications: BLS, NRP, STABLE Certification.
  • Two years of NICU experience required.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Additional Information

All clinicians are expected to be present for a week of orientation, even if some initial learning modules are conducted remotely. Professional attire in any suitable color is required.

Location: Multiple locations within the region, specifically in City, State.
