NICU Registered Nurse (RN)
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced NICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in neonatal care and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide care for newborns in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), including managing conditions such as hypoglycemia, mild respiratory distress, and phototherapy.
- Assist in the management of pre-term infants learning to bottle-feed and gain weight, as well as infants withdrawing from maternal drug use.
- Attend C-section and vaginal delivery procedures, focusing on the care of the newborn.
- May be asked to provide care for stable postpartum mothers and their babies; training will be provided for those without prior experience.
- Work collaboratively within a team to ensure safe staffing based on patient acuity.
- Participate in orientation and training sessions with a preceptor as needed.
Schedule Details
- Shift Type: Nights
- Shift Length: 12 hours
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Weekend Requirements: 6-9 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule
- May be asked to participate in holiday rotations
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of NICU nursing experience is required.
- Current certifications in BLS (AHA) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program).
- Prior travel experience is preferred.
- Willingness to float to other locations if needed based on census or staffing needs.
Work Environment
- Unit Type: NICU (Level 2) with a total of 6 beds.
- Nurse to Patient Ratios: 1:1 to 1:3 based on patient needs.
- All scrub attire will be provided, and the dress code is standard blue hospital scrubs.
