Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Level III NICU RN for a night shift position requiring NRP certification and 2+ years of NICU experience.

Details

• Level III/IV NICU setting
• Patient ratio of 1:3
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-7:00)
• Weekend requirement of 3 out of every 6-week scheduling period
• Must work 2 of the 3 winter holidays
• Floating required within scope of practice as needed

Requirements

• Active VA or compact RN license (pending license accepted, must be in hand by the Wednesday before start date)
• BSN preferred
• 2+ years of Level III NICU experience required
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required
• Dr. Brown's Infant Driven Feeding Certificate required (can be pending at submission)
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience with neonatal specialty skills including high frequency ventilation, nitric oxide therapy, UAC/UVC care, therapeutic hypothermia, central line care, and neonatal dosage calculations
• Two professional references required
• Copies of all required certifications required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive neonatal intensive care to Level III/IV NICU patients including respiratory, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, and neurologic support
• Perform specialized procedures such as assisting with lumbar punctures, chest tube management, tracheostomy care, and phlebotomy
• Complete specialty-specific orientation modules during onboarding
• Maximum of 40 hours RTO approved per contract; no time off approved during the first two weeks of assignment
• Previous UVA permanent staff or traveler employment requires 1-year separation and leadership approval
• External travelers cannot exceed 365 total assignment days and are not eligible to return once this threshold is reached
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• No radius rule applies to this position
