Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced NICU RN for a Level III unit requiring therapeutic cooling experience and a TN or compact RN license.

Details

• Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit setting
• Care for premature, critically ill, and medically complex neonates including super high-acuity patients
• Night shift schedule from 18:30 to 07:00
• 13-week assignment length

Requirements

• Active RN license (TN state or compact) required
• Current BLS (AHA) and NRP (AHA/American Academy of Pediatrics) certifications required
• STABLE certification may be required
• Minimum 1 year of experience required, 3-4+ years of Level III NICU experience preferred
• Hands-on therapeutic hypothermia/cooling experience required
• Experience managing ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP/NIPPV, and high-flow oxygen
• Experience with central lines, PICC lines, and umbilical lines (UAC/UVC)
• Ability to administer and titrate IV medications, continuous infusions, TPN, and blood products
• Ability to function independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced NICU environment
• Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start

Additional Information

• Provide direct nursing care to premature, critically ill, and medically complex neonates
• Participate in neonatal resuscitation and stabilization efforts
• Recognize and respond quickly to neonatal deterioration and emergencies
• Collaborate with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and the multidisciplinary NICU team
• Provide education and emotional support to families throughout the infant's hospitalization
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Previous travel experience preferred but first-time travelers may be considered
• Radius rule applies, allowing local candidates at a reduced pay rate
• Must possess a US Social Security Number and provide a US home address
