Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced NICU RN for a Level III unit requiring therapeutic cooling experience and a TN or compact RN license.

Details

  • Level III Neonatal ICU setting caring for premature, critically ill, and medically complex neonates
  • Manages super high-acuity patients requiring advanced respiratory and hemodynamic support
  • Uses ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP/NIPPV, and high-flow oxygen equipment
  • Manages central lines, PICC lines, and umbilical lines (UAC/UVC)
  • Administers and titrates IV medications, continuous infusions, TPN, and blood products
  • Night shift schedule from 18:30-07:00
  • 13-week assignment length

Requirements

  • Active TN or compact RN license required
  • Current BLS (AHA) and NRP (AHA/AAP) certifications required
  • Minimum 1 year of experience required, though 3-4+ years of strong Level III NICU experience preferred
  • Hands-on therapeutic hypothermia/cooling experience required
  • Must be able to independently manage complex, high-acuity NICU patients with minimal supervision
  • STABLE certification may be required based on facility policy
  • Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start
  • Full Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
  • Copy of driver's license required for consideration
  • Two separate professional references required

Additional Information

  • Participate in neonatal resuscitation and stabilization and respond quickly to neonatal deterioration or emergencies
  • Perform comprehensive neonatal assessments and closely monitor changes in patient condition
  • Collaborate with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and the multidisciplinary NICU team
  • Provide education and emotional support to parents and families throughout the infant's hospitalization
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
  • Previous travel experience preferred but first-time travelers may still be considered
  • Must reside within a facility-specific radius to qualify for the full travel rate; local candidates within the radius may be considered at a reduced rate
  • Must have a US Social Security number and provide a US home address
