Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of recent NICU nursing experience required
  • Experience in a Level III or Level IV NICU strongly preferred
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand at time of submission
  • Compact RN license accepted
  • BLS and NRP certification required
  • Experience caring for neonates as early as 23-24 weeks gestation
  • Comfort with high-acuity neonatal equipment, respiratory support, and therapies
  • Ability to work nights, weekends as scheduled, and holidays as required
  • Open to floating between nearby facilities when needed
  • Strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

  • Provide skilled nursing care to critically ill neonates and infants in a high-acuity NICU
  • Monitor and manage patients requiring CPAP/BiPAP, high-frequency ventilation, oscillators, and standard ventilator support
  • Administer blood and blood products, medications, and neonatal feedings with accuracy
  • Care for PICC lines, central lines, feeding tubes, and syringe pump therapies
  • Assist with cooling and warming protocols, cardioversion/defibrillation support, and other advanced neonatal interventions
  • Support high-risk deliveries and neonatal surgeries as part of the care team
  • Collaborate with respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and other interdisciplinary partners
  • Maintain excellent documentation and uphold patient safety in a busy, family-centered environment
  • Adapt quickly to unit needs, including occasional float or sitter assignments when appropriate
