Registered Nurse - NICU II Nursery

Schedule

This is a 13-week contract position with a Night shift, working 3x12-hour shifts from 18:30 to 07:00.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our NICU II Nursery team, specializing in neonates aged 29-34 weeks. The ideal candidate should have experience in a NICU setting and be able to manage a patient ratio of 1:4. The role includes responsibilities such as supporting breastfeeding, managing feeding methods (bottle, breast, gavage), and adhering to isolation precautions and PPE protocols.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for neonates, including those with prematurity and neonatal abstinence syndrome.
• Administer treatments such as IV vasopressors, surfactants, and steroids.
• Perform procedures involving UAC and UVC line management, phototherapy, and enteral feedings.
• Ensure proper use of bubble CPAP and oxygen delivery systems.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary support teams including respiratory services and social services.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a NICU environment.
• Current certifications in BLS and NRP.
• Experience with Epic charting system is required.
• Ability to float to well baby unit as needed.
