Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Night Shift Neonatal Intensive Care Unit position requiring 3+ years of recent NICU experience and an active AK RN license.

Details

  • NICU setting caring for transition patients and level 2 NICU acuity patients
  • Admits NICU patients and performs newborn resuscitations as needed
  • Attends deliveries as a NICU RN
  • Night shift, 12-hour shifts over an 8-week contract
  • Weekend requirement of 5 shifts within a 6-week schedule
  • Holiday coverage per unit needs
  • Floating to all departments when necessary
  • May have mandatory on-call shifts

Requirements

  • Active AK RN license required (or candidate must apply within 24 hours of acceptance)
  • NRP and STABLE certifications required
  • 3+ years of recent NICU experience required
  • Must be able to care for transition patients and level 2 NICU acuity patients
  • Must have experience admitting NICU patients and resuscitating newborns
  • Must have experience attending deliveries as a NICU RN

Additional Information

  • Free private 1-bedroom housing provided for 1 occupant, pets not permitted
  • Optional housing allowance available for candidates who choose not to use provided housing
  • A vehicle is recommended for transportation due to winter conditions; car allowance available
  • Fingerprints must be mailed to the Alaska Department of Health and Services within 48 hours of offer acceptance
  • Up to 14 days of RTO may be requested, including a maximum of 4 weekend shifts, and must be requested at time of submittal
  • Candidate's permanent residence must be 50+ miles outside of Fairbanks
  • Flu vaccination required with religious or medical exemption requests reviewed
