Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a NICU position requiring a TX or compact RN license and at least 1 year of recent NICU experience.

Details

• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30)
• NICU III/IV level work setting
• Patient population includes neonates <24-28 weeks and those with cardiovascular, GI, infectious disease, neurologic, and respiratory conditions
• Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:4
• On-call is voluntary
• 6 weekend shifts required within a 6 week schedule
• 3 holiday shifts required
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• BLS and NRP certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of NICU experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Skilled in ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP)
• Experience with UAC/UVC, arterial line, and central line management
• Experience with IV therapy, vasopressors, surfactants, and steroid administration
• Experience with feeding management (bottle, breast, gavage) and NG/NJ tube placement
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
• Experience with neonatal abstinence syndrome care
• State-issued ID, SSN, and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct bedside care to critically ill and premature neonates in a Level III/IV NICU setting
• Candidates residing within 90 miles are considered local and accepted at a lower bill rate
• RTO requests limited to 5 non-consecutive days, with only one holiday RTO request approved during Nov-Jan
• All RTO must be approved by management prior to contract signing
• Military certifications accepted, AHA preferred, ARC not accepted
• First-time travelers may be considered depending on experience
