Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- BLS and NRP certifications required
- Ability to safely care for neonates 22 weeks and above
- Experience with safe medication administration and accurate medication calculations
- Competency with EMB handling and the 5 patient rights
- Proficiency with NG/OG tubes, CPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula, and Nasal Cannula support
- Experience caring for patients with PIVs, PICCs, UAC/UVC lines, and lab draws
- Strong understanding of NICU equipment and developmentally appropriate preterm care
- Team-oriented mindset with openness to feedback and a positive unit culture
Responsibilities
- Provide direct, compassionate nursing care to critically ill and premature newborns
- Monitor patient status, escalate concerns promptly, and collaborate with the neonatal care team
- Administer medications safely and accurately following neonatal standards of care
- Support respiratory care needs, including CPAP and high-flow oxygen therapies
- Assist with procedures such as intubations, UAC/UVC placement, PICC placement, LPs, and bedside surgical procedures
- Perform and support lab draws, EKGs, EEGs, x-rays, ultrasounds, and other diagnostic testing
- Provide developmentally appropriate, family-centered care in a high-acuity NICU environment
- Contribute to a safe, collaborative, and positive team atmosphere
