Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse (RN) with specialized NICU experience for a 13-week assignment at Northside Hospital Cherokee.
The NICU RN will provide specialized nursing care to neonatal patients, monitor clinical conditions, administer treatments and medications, and collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to support safe, high-quality patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Provide specialized nursing care to critically ill and premature newborns.
Perform comprehensive neonatal assessments and continuously monitor patient conditions.
Administer medications, treatments, and therapies according to orders and protocols.
Monitor vital signs, clinical status, and responses to treatment.
Collaborate with neonatologists, physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
Communicate effectively with families regarding patient care and condition.
Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.
Recognize and respond appropriately to changes in neonatal condition.
Follow evidence-based nursing practices, infection-control standards, and patient-safety protocols.
Support a collaborative and family-centered care environment.
Requirements
Minimum 2 years of NICU experience – Required
Active RN license – Required
AHA BLS – Required
NRP – Required
Strong neonatal assessment and critical-thinking skills
Ability to work 12-hour day shifts
Must meet Northside Hospital travel eligibility requirements
No locals within 50 miles
Holiday Expectations
Travelers must work:
2 of 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, or New Year's Day
1 minor holiday: Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or New Year's Eve
