Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a NICU position requiring an Illinois RN license, NRP certification, and Level 1 Trauma experience.

Details

  • Work in the NICU of a hospital environment
  • Neonatal patient population requiring specialized care
  • Uses EPIC EMR system
  • Day shift schedule with 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week
  • Weekend requirement of 5 weekend shifts per 6 week schedule
  • Holiday coverage required per rotation

Requirements

  • Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
  • Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) from American Heart Association
  • Minimum three (3) years of relevant nursing experience
  • ASN required, BSN preferred
  • Level 1 Trauma experience required
  • EPIC charting experience required
  • Skilled in multidisciplinary collaboration, documentation, breastfeeding support, and medication administration

Additional Information

  • Monitor intake and output of neonatal patient assignments
  • Assist mothers with breastfeeding initiation and baby-friendly care practices
  • Administer medications using proper bar code scanning procedures
  • Report on patient assignments during multidisciplinary rounds
  • Complete initial patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
  • RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
