Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced NICU RN for a pediatric hospital setting, requiring at least 2 years of Level III/IV NICU experience and an active OH or compact RN license.

Details

  • Work in a Level IV NICU at a large pediatric hospital
  • Specialized care for patients in a BPD (bronchopulmonary dysplasia) NICU unit, with an average patient length of stay of 2–3 years
  • Frequent trach care and high degree of parent involvement expected
  • Day shift: 4x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
  • Float required to PICU, CV PICU, stepdown, med/surg, and on rare occasions the ED
  • Float to other campuses, primarily Riverside and St. Ann's, as well as other OH Health and Mount Carmel facilities
  • 13-week contract

Requirements

  • Active OH RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
  • Current BLS and NRP certifications required
  • Minimum 1 year of Level IV NICU experience required
  • Minimum 2 years of combined Level III/IV NICU experience required
  • Must be willing and able to float to multiple units and campuses
  • 2 supervisory (manager or supervisor level) references required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide specialized nursing care to neonatal patients, including those with chronic lung conditions requiring long-term hospitalization
  • Must be comfortable with frequent trach care and active family/parent participation in care
  • Two-part interview process: initial screening with the Float Pool Leader, followed by a potential second interview with the NICU unit manager
  • Local candidates are not eligible for this position
  • Candidates who have previously worked permanently at this facility must have a gap of at least 2 years before being considered
