Job Summary
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Nurse | Location: unspecified
This position involves providing specialized care for neonatal patients, including those born at 23 weeks and up, in a facility that supports surgical procedures and advanced respiratory management. The role requires delivering high-quality clinical care to neonates with complex needs, ensuring safety and positive outcomes.
Job Details
- Certifications: BLS, NRP
- Education & Experience: 1-year of experience in neonatal intensive care or similar setting, valid CA license
- Schedule: 3 x 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM 7:30 AM, minimum 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Certifications (BLS, NRP), valid CA license, at least 1 year of NICU experience, experienced in NICU III and IV, Neonates <24-28 weeks, dysrhythmia management, line insertions (PICC, umbilical), ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP), Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome, surfactant administration, intubation and ventilation procedures, and central line care.
- Additional Information: Unit staffing includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretaries. Patient census averages 23 neonatal patients daily, with a mix of surgical, cooling, and all respiratory mode cases.
- Submission Requirements: Candidates must upload valid certifications, LA license within the last 2 weeks, and references obtained within the past year. No separation time required for return staff or travelers; maximum RTO is 7 days per contract. Onboarding includes labs completed within 35 days of contract signing, with 7-year work history verification required.
