Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level IV NICU position requiring at least 2 years of NICU III/IV experience, including 1 year in a Level IV NICU.

Details

  • Work in the NICU of a Level One Pediatric Trauma Center and Level IV NICU at a Magnet-designated pediatric hospital
  • Care for neonatal patients across a range of gestational ages, including those under 24-28 weeks
  • Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:3
  • Uses Epic charting system
  • Day/evening shift, 12 hours, 7:00am-7:30pm, Monday through Friday
  • Required to work 2-3 weekends per 6-week scheduling period
  • Floating required as needed
  • Manages post-op patients, g-tubes, and trach/vent care with various modes of invasive and noninvasive ventilation

Requirements

  • Active WI RN license or compact required
  • BLS and NRP certifications required (AHA only)
  • PALS certification preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of total NICU III/IV experience required, with at least 1 year in a Level IV NICU
  • Two years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty being submitted to
  • Epic experience required, preferably within the last 12 months
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Prior travel experience preferred, ideally including at least one Level IV NICU assignment
  • Must pass a telemetry exam prior to start with strict passing criteria for both adult and pediatric rhythm interpretation

Additional Information

  • Provide specialized neonatal intensive care in a pediatric medical and surgical center known for nationally recognized specialists
  • Skills utilized may include arterial line management, central line care, UAC/UVC management, ventilator management, and neonatal dosage calculations
  • Experience with conditions such as NEC, gastroschisis/omphalocele, seizure disorders, and respiratory distress syndrome is valuable
  • Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered; local candidates not accepted
  • First-time travelers may be considered if they have Level IV NICU experience
  • Parking permit required through UW Transportation if parking onsite, with alternative transportation options available
