Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level IV NICU position requiring at least 2 years of NICU III/IV experience, including 1 full year in a Level IV NICU, with WI or compact RN license.

Details

  • Work in the NICU of a Level One Pediatric Trauma Center and Level IV NICU at a Magnet-designated children's hospital
  • Care for neonates ranging from under 24-28 weeks to over 34 weeks gestation
  • Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:3
  • Manages post-op patients, g-tubes, trach/vent care, and various modes of invasive and noninvasive ventilation
  • Uses Epic charting system
  • Day and Night shifts available, 3x12 hours, 7:00am-7:30pm or 7:00pm-7:30am, Friday through Sunday
  • Floating required as needed

Requirements

  • Active WI or compact RN license required
  • Current BLS and NRP certifications required (AHA only); PALS preferred
  • Minimum 2 years total NICU III/IV experience required, with at least 1 full year in a Level IV NICU
  • Inpatient RN travelers must have 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty being submitted for
  • Epic charting experience required, preferably within the last 12 months
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Prior travel experience required; at least one completed Level IV NICU travel assignment preferred
  • Skilled in IV therapy, UAC/UVC management, neonatal dosage calculations, and neonatal emergency medications
  • Experience with respiratory care including ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP), suctioning, and oxygen delivery systems
  • Experience with thermoregulation, phototherapy, and neonatal abstinence syndrome care

Additional Information

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill neonates in a Level IV NICU setting
  • Must pass a pass/fail telemetry exam with strict criteria prior to start, including 100% accuracy on lethal rhythm identification
  • Up to two attempts allowed for telemetry exam; additional coursework required if not passed by second attempt
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
  • First-time travelers with Level IV NICU experience will be considered
  • Parking permit required if parking onsite; alternative transportation options available including bus and park & ride
