Job Summary:
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position available within an acute care hospital setting. The role involves providing specialized care to neonates, including preterm infants and critically ill newborns, in a level 3 NICU caring for approximately 190 births per month. The position requires night shifts and offers a schedule of 12-hour shifts with a minimum commitment of 36 hours per week. The start date is projected for October 20, 2026, with an expected end date of January 19, 2027.

  • Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week, starting from 10/20/2026 to 01/19/2027
  • Required Qualifications: Valid state license (compact license preferred), at least 2 years of nursing experience with a minimum of 1 year in neonatal or NICU specialty, current BLS, NRP, and PALS certifications, familiarity with Epic charting system, and experience managing neonatal patients including Central line care, intubations, Max frequency ventilation, Nitric Oxide management, and other advanced neonatal procedures.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Level III NICU, knowledge of specialized neonatal equipment such as CPAP, BIPAP, oscillators, and high-frequency ventilators.
  • Additional Information: Candidate must be willing to float to nearby units and facilities as needed; no on-call required; flexibility to work every other weekend; must be able to adhere to the facility's clinical protocols and scheduling policies; RTO requests needed at submission.
  • Certifications: BLS, NRP, PALS (Advanced NRP acceptable if willing to obtain prior to start)
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience, including at least 1 year in neonatal/NICU specialty; no prior experience in the role is allowed for first-timers.
  • Other Requirements: Ability to perform high-complexity neonatal procedures, manage ventilators, administer medications like Fentanyl and Versed, and complete neonatal assessments; must have relevant neonatal skills and experience in a Level 3 NICU setting.
