Job Summary:
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse (NICU RN) position in Apple Valley, California. This role involves providing specialized care for neonates in a Level 3 NICU setting. The role requires working a block schedule with shifts that support the unit's high acuity patient population and interdisciplinary team coordination.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid California Registered Nurse (RN) license, at least 2 years of neonatal ICU experience, with 1 year in specialty; BLS, NRP, PALS certifications required
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with high-frequency ventilation, PICC line management, and neonatal advanced procedures; familiarity with Epic charting system
- Float: May float to nearby units for similar patient populations if necessary
- Additional Information:
- Start date: 08/25/2026
- Local radius: 50 miles
- No on-call required; every other weekend, may exceed to meet unit needs
- Must work 3 of the 5 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve, New Years Day) and request specific scheduling requests upfront
- Open to first-time NICU RNs, but minimum of 2 years experience is required
- Must include responses regarding previous experience at similar facilities and references covering the past 3 years
