Job Summary:
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position available at a busy healthcare facility in Wichita, Kansas. This seasonal travel assignment offers an opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art NICU unit with a team of experienced staff, providing specialized care for neonatal patients. The role involves delivering high-quality patient care within a dynamic, fast-paced environment on night shifts.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Valid Kansas licensure, current active BLS (Basic Life Support) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications, minimum of 1 year of current acute care NICU hospital experience, no minimum experience requirement specified, location in Wichita, Kansas, and a valid license.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Level IV NICU experience, prior Meditech electronic medical record experience, previous travel experience at large teaching facilities.
  • Additional Information: The unit features advanced equipment including Medela, Alaris, Ohmeda, Drager, Philips and GE ECG systems. Procedures frequently performed include IV placement, whole body cooling, surgical cases such as NEC, PDA, CVC, PDA ligations, high-frequency ventilation, and chest tube insertions. The team is composed of charge CNC nurses, RNs, unit secretaries, and respiratory therapy technicians, with a patient ratio of 2:1 in the NICU. The unit emphasizes family-centered care, team collaboration, and maintaining a supportive environment utilizing new equipment and technology.
