Job Summary
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Nurse Nights a Level 2 NICU setting. This role involves providing comprehensive neonatal care with the ability to practice independently and demonstrate awareness of all relevant aspects of each situation. The responsibilities include delivering routine and complex care, managing contingencies, and making appropriate assignments to ensure optimal patient outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Nights, 7:00 PM 7:00 AM, 36 hours per week
  • Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, and Experience: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, current STABLE certification, BLS certification from the American Heart Association, NRP certification, and a current RN license in the state of Texas or a compact license. Minimum of 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty.
  • Responsibilities: Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation. Address psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families. Administer medications and treatments with proper documentation. Assess learning needs, provide education to patients and families, and identify resources.
  • Additional Information: Neonatal ICU (Level 2 NICU) may require float to mother/baby units as needed. Newly hired experienced RNs must attend a New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire and complete all competency verification requirements, including perinatal and organizational-specific competencies.
