Concentric Healthcare Staffing is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Birmingham, Alabama.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission and develop individualized plans of care in collaboration with the patient, family, and interdisciplinary team
  • Provide accurate, timely documentation of all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record in accordance with policy
  • Participate in patient rehabilitation programs, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care with emphasis on patient and family education
  • Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission and provide patient teaching in anticipation of the discharge date
  • Communicate pertinent changes in patient status to attending physicians, charge nurses, and other care providers to ensure continuity of care and patient safety
  • Provide direction, training, and supervision of Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees through effective delegation and problem-solving

Required Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing or eligible to practice in Alabama
  • Demonstrated ability to perform nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans
  • Competency in safe patient handling, infection control, and adherence to hospital safety policies and procedures
  • Strong documentation skills with the ability to maintain accurate and timely medical records
  • Ability to supervise and delegate appropriately to ancillary nursing staff

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Prior experience in an acute rehabilitation or similar inpatient care setting
  • Experience leading or assuming charge nurse responsibilities
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development through continuing education and self-study
