Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Operating Room position specializing in Neurology Surgery, requiring 1 year of Neuro OR experience and an active IL license.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting within a 4-suite Neurology Surgery OR department
• Approximately 200 neuro surgeries performed per month including spinal fusions and craniotomies
• Uses EPIC Optime charting system
• 10-hour day shifts from 0700-1730 with on-call responsibilities
• Call shifts run 1530-0700, typically 1-2 nights per week
• Weekend call rotation approximately once per month
• Holiday call requirements apply
• Charge nurse available Monday-Friday and does not take a team or OR assignment
• 24/7 charge nurse and house supervisor coverage
• OR techs are present on the unit
• 1 RN circulator per room and 1 RN or scrub tech for scrubbing in
• Minimal floating expected due to staffing levels
• No self-scheduling

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• Minimum 1 year of Neuro OR experience required, including spinal fusions and craniotomies
• Must be well-rounded in a variety of neuro surgical cases beyond spine and crani procedures
• BSN not required

• Provide direct circulating and scrubbing support for neurosurgical procedures
• Unit-specific orientation typically lasts 1 week (40 hours)
• Blue scrubs provided; candidates should bring personal shoes
• Local candidates welcome, with reduced rates available for those within 50 miles of the facility
