Description

American Traveler is hiring a Neuro Transplant ICU RN requiring Level I trauma experience and a current OK or compact RN license.

Details

  • Work in the Neuro Transplant ICU of a hospital setting
  • Care for a variety of ICU patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
  • Night shift schedule
  • 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, totaling 36 hours weekly
  • 13-week assignment length

Requirements

  • Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
  • Level I trauma center experience required
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required, BSN preferred
  • Strong knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
  • Good verbal and written communication skills

Additional Information

  • Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients and document nursing interventions and treatment responses
  • Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments
  • Obtain and monitor physiological data, observing and intervening as needed
  • Administer prescribed medications and initiate, regulate, and monitor IV infusions and blood products
  • Communicate care plans with patients and families throughout hospitalization and at discharge
  • Delegate tasks to support staff as appropriate
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
  • Workers may extend on assignment only once for a total of up to 26 weeks, after which a 6-month separation is required before reapplying
  • Facility enforces strict compliance deadlines and does not allow push starts, so onboarding documentation must be completed promptly
