Description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN with neurology experience for a night shift position requiring NIH Stroke Scale proficiency.

Details

  • Work in the Telemetry unit of a short term acute care, Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma teaching hospital
  • Care for post-surgical neurology patients and various neurology diagnoses
  • Patient ratio of 1:5
  • Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours (19:00-7:00)
  • Every other weekend required
  • Floating required between units
  • No on-call requirements
  • Epic EMR used

Requirements

  • Active WA state or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
  • Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
  • Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience required
  • Neurology RN experience required, including comfort with the NIH Stroke Scale
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management required
  • Experience with craniotomy, CVA, pre/post neurosurgery, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury patients required
  • 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
  • Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide telemetry and neuro stepdown level nursing care, including respiratory support such as BiPAP/CPAP management and chest tube management
  • Administer and monitor procedural sedation and medications
  • Scrub color is any color for RNs
  • No parking fees at this facility
  • Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day), with added coverage need over Christmas
  • RTO requests must be submitted upfront during the application process
  • Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles away to qualify for travel rate
  • Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travel RN and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
