Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift assignment requiring at least 1 year of experience and a TX or compact RN license, with first-time travelers welcome to apply.

Details

  • Med/Surg Tele unit within a Short Term Acute Care hospital with a Level II Trauma Center
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
  • Patient ratio of 1:4
  • Floating between units required
  • Weekend requirement of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
  • No on-call requirements

Requirements

  • Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Minimum of 1 year of recent experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level II experience preferred
  • Experience with telemetry, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and rapid response/code teams preferred
  • Experience with neurological conditions such as CVA, craniotomy, aneurysm repair, intracranial bleeds, and seizure disorders preferred
  • 2 references covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years required
  • Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide skilled nursing care to Med/Surg and Telemetry patients including cardiac monitoring, IV therapy, and respiratory support
  • May float between sister facilities near the contracted location
  • Dress code requires solid navy blue uniforms or scrub attire for licensed nursing personnel
  • Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
  • RTO requests must be submitted upfront prior to offer for consideration
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler
  • Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
