Description

American Traveler is hiring a Neuro Surgical Specialty RN for a night shift telemetry unit requiring 2 years acute inpatient tele experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• 34-bed Neuro Surgical Specialty unit with a 4-5:1 patient ratio
• Patient population includes spine and neuro surgical diagnoses (not stroke)
• Uses Epic EMR
• Equipment includes lumbar and JP drains, wound vac, traction, PCA, trach, EKG, and feeding tubes
• Night shift schedule from 6:45pm to 7:15am, every other weekend required
• 36 hours per week over three 12-hour shifts
• RN does not read telemetry strips on this unit

Requirements

• Active KY or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years acute care RN experience required
• 2 years acute inpatient telemetry experience required
• Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree (ASN) required
• Epic EMR experience required

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include patient assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation of clinical interventions
• Provides patient and family education throughout stay and at discharge
• Supervises and mentors licensed and non-licensed staff members
• Participates in a Practice Governance framework and evidence-based practice initiatives
• Optional neuro certification class available through the Neuro Institute
