Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Neuro Stepdown/Telemetry position requiring 1 year of PCU/Stepdown experience and a MO or compact RN license.

Details

  • Work in the Neuro Stepdown unit of a Level II Trauma, teaching hospital
  • Flexacuity unit ranging from PCU/Stepdown to Telemetry patient needs
  • Patient ratio of 1:4
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
  • Every other weekend required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Floating may be required to similar units
  • EPIC charting system required

Requirements

  • Active RN license (MO or Compact) currently in hand
  • BLS certification required; ACLS and NIHSS strongly preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of PCU/Stepdown experience required
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and telemetry monitoring
  • Skilled in IV therapy, PICC line management, blood product administration, and port access/management
  • Respiratory care experience including BiPAP/CPAP management and tracheostomy care
  • Experience with insulin drip titration and heparin protocols
  • Wound care and isolation precaution/PPE experience

  • Provide nursing care across a flexacuity unit spanning stepdown and telemetry patient populations
  • Must work 4 of 8 designated holiday dates: Thanksgiving Eve, Thanksgiving Day, Black Friday, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, 12/26, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
  • Navy blue scrub color required
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Local candidates within 70 miles of the facility are not accepted
  • RTO dates must be submitted at time of consideration
